“Dark blue is richer than indigo, out ofwhich it is made.”

“Ao wa ai yoriidete ai yori aoshi.”

Petr Písařík’sexhibition Tide Vector offers a pure,multi-layered look into the authenticity of the artist’s work. The author’sunique ability to create a visually consistent and pleasant space evoking amysterious, underwater world is the unifying moment of seemingly disparateworks of art featured in the clinic in Kartouzská Street, Ringhoffer’s Villaand the winter garden.

Under the skin ofthe initial visual impressions, a wide range of motifs opens up. The mostsignificant of these is the natural effort to grasp the artist’s creative actwhich embodies his own person. The creative act stands on the border of thepast and the coming of the future. Out of the past, the act draws personaldetermination, inherited qualities and experiences in order to materialize theminto its forthcoming message in a spiritually unique and original way. For theobserver, this represents a brief moment in which they find themselves justbefore the definite validity of meanings and materials becomes violated. It isat this moment that the observer sees the memory of things- unreal colors, gitter, shine, clarity and true beauty. The material for the creative act ismade up of paintings created using a special technique wherein the artistcombines the traditional medium with crystals and beads embodying the tide ofunusual colors, sparkles and three dimensional objects functioning as a vectordefining exposure.

Repeated elementsin the exhibition are motifs from Japanese aesthetics such as the pine tree andcrane. The Japanese pine tree represents an insistent waiting for the imprintof spirituality into the world in question. The Shinto faith told its peoplethat God came down to the Earth and chose the pine on a high mountain as arefuge. Meanwhile, the crane is a traditional symbol of happiness andlongevity, supporting the joyful finding of spiritual moments- creative acts inour world and their long preservation in human memory.
