Petr Písařík's installation represents a dynamic and rhythmically structured intervention of the artist into the gallery space. Several larger and smaller paintings, two objects and a number of free architectural elements, including a narrow mirror, merge indiscriminately into an improvised project realization.

During the era of utopian ideas in the 20th century, these works bore the name Gesamtkunstwerk. In the 1930’s they were called Merzbau, named after Kurt Schwitters’ spatial constructions.

Although what’s exhibited in Via Art is a sample of the artist’s work, the viewer will recognize that all of the components of this exhibition are connected by a continuity of invention condensed into a “liquid” abstract and syncretic form whose plastic and brightly lit surfaces cement the visual stimuli of technical and organic structures and processes.

The only stable component of this ingenious installation is the exclusive invention, dry humor, irony and casual charm. The viewer will hopefully appreciate Písařík’s piece for the playful approach in such an ephemeral work based on an exacting quality of painting and a strong visual concept.
